We recently discovered this pristine quality Royal Green Hojari Frankincense Resin and Essential Oil from Oman. It's wildcrafted by a few local families in the Dhofar region, and the harvest is overseen by the Sultanate of Oman to ensure the trees are cared for sustainably, never over-harvested. These handpicked pearls of Frankincense resin are then distilled in traditional copper alembics, utilizing ancient techniques, to produce a pure essential oil of exquisite quality.
Royal Blue and Green Hojari Frankincense
Frankincense, or sap from the Olibanum tree, has been considered a valuable and precious herbal medicine since the beginning of written history. Of the all the Frankincense, Boswellia sacra is regarded as the most medicinal species, particularly the Royal Hojari variety from Oman. The Sultan's Royal Blue Hojari Frankincense is the highest quality of Frankincense produced in the world ~ it’s the freshest, handpicked pearls of aqua blue hued Frankincense resin, and it is reserved for the Sultanate, not typically exported. Royal Green Hojari Frankincense is the second highest quality ~ it has a turquoise to olivine green color, and is the highest grade of Frankincense that the Sultanate allows to leave Oman.
We are grateful to have found this Royal Green Hojari Frankincense direct from Omani family wildcrafters in the Dhofar region of Oman, and we offer it here in both raw Resin Pearls and Essential Oil. We even have a small batch of Frankincense Honey made by bees foraging on these sacred trees (coming soon!).
Traditional Uses
While Frankincense is often regarded as only incense, where it is grown in Oman, Royal Green Hojari Frankincense of this prized quality is considered “edible/medical grade” specifically for ingesting. It is either chewed like a gum, brewed, or cold-infused as a tea. The essential oil can be applied topically to the skin, teeth, and gums. Chewing the resin, tooth brushing, or oil-pulling with a few drops of essential oil can support healthy teeth, gums, and balanced microbiomes. It can also be diluted in water and taken internally in limited amounts. Appropriately regimented internal use may offer cleansing, purifying and tonifying effects. In Oman, it’s widely used as a refreshing cold-brewed tea to assist with daily detoxification. And recent global scientific explorations have revealed Frankincense as one of the most potent herbal anti-inflammatories available.
